State of The Union: To date, our player total remains at 58 players. I am in negotiation with one player’s agent, as this player is coming off a full year of being on the IR and he may not be able to play again this season. I will keep you posted. All other players fees have been received.

Full Tee Sheet: Even though our group was rained out on May 27, everyone had received a tee time.  And this week, all Booker’s also received tee times, so no one was shut out from the lottery! We had 13 groups playing on the West course and one group slotted on the Sunningdale course today. There were a couple of players who had to withdraw, however, we had our best turn-out of the year with 49 golfers teeing it up. As you will see, it was a shoot out on the course today!

Hey Mister: If you had a million dollars, would you buy a Picasso or a Garfunkel?  You may want to ask this week’s mister recipient, as he is an artist by trade and today, in the morning dew, he dotted the landscape with 44 quota points! I have to suspect this was one of his best rounds at Sunningdale, with a score of 90 from a W28 handicap.  The 8 pay points is a bit shy of a million bucks but it is the color in the palette that matters.  Put your paint brushes down and congratulate Mr. Gregory Charles Ludlow on his strokes today. Well done Greg!

Luck of the Irish: This Englishman, fresh off of an Irish vacation, brought some lucky green of his own to the golf course this morning.  He opened with a birdie on hole #1 and finished the front nine just one over par!  He couldn’t quite find the rainbow on the back nine but his score of 80 today was grand and earned him 43 quota points.

John Schuurmans had 18 quota points on the front nine and 9 more after he finished the turn, to take second place on the podium this week. You can tip your wee tweed cap to John this week!

I mean really, Doctor: On a week when it was tough to make the winner’s circle, these two doctors dazzled their way in.  First in, with 42 quota points was Claude Kortas. In the medical profession, seeing is believing. Claude drained a 12-footer on the 18 hole for a birdie and then took a picture of the Booker’s scorecard, just to be sure!  Super round Claude.

Last play date, this Doc was the mister recipient.  He followed that great round up with a nice score of 85 this week. His handicap is dropping faster than his heart rate. No need for the stethoscope as Victor Vigna had 21 quota points to match his Y21 handicap for six pay points. Great rounds guys.

Special mention to Sohan Samra. Sohan is the first “rookie” this year to earn a pay point. He birdied #10 which helped put him into the money.

Monday Stats that may interest only me;

Lowest round of the day: John Schuurmans’ 80 was the low score of the day. As noted 36/44 split.

Top Bird Dog: There were 13 birdies today. Top bird dog was Gerry Marcus, playing in his first play date of the year. He birdied #1 and #16. Well done Gerry!

Four other players made birdies but did not receive pay points. They were Lyn Sartori, (#10), Dave Broughton, (#5), Don Letton (#18) and Gary Plomske, (#11). All other birdies are listed below.

Best Played Hole by one 4-Some: Even par for the group of Gary Plomske, Guill Rishchynski, Desmond Dutrizac and Julian Oates. They all had par on hole #2.  They equalled that score on hole #11 with a birdie for Gary, pars for Des and Julian and a bogie for Guill.

All pay points earners are listed here.  A total of 18 golfers exceeded the 36-point threshold for a total of 65 pay points!
