State of The Union: There are now 58 golfers signed up to play in our league, with Vipin
Bhayana signing on late last night. He got into his first game today, along
with John Bulmer and Ian Shewan. Sohan
Samra is almost a veteran with having two Huffman Mondays under his belt.

There are 10 golfers that I will settle up with as
we near the next play date, May 27.
Three off of The Tee: We had 13 groups scheduled to play on the West course. At least three groups were shut out of the
lottery. This caused a bit of a scramble to get everyone into a game. The early
tee time players avoided the rain and the later players had some wind to
contend with. We had two DNFs today, in
all though, there were 45 golfers competing for pay points.
Doctor, Doctor: Two
weeks into the season and this gentleman has made pay points. He moved all the way to the top of the podium
today. He must have been inspired by his
golf cart chauffer. You don’t need a stethoscope to hear his heart beat today, as
Mr. Victor Vigna pulsed his way around the course to the beat of 41
quota points! Vic managed a nice round of 90 from a Y22 handicap and only
had four holes on which he did not score a quota. Well
played Doc!
Forty, 40: This is not a
new whiskey but how many quota points required today to reach the silver podium. In a three-way tie were Desmond Dutrizac, Kent Clark, and Ernie Miatello.
Desmond played in some early morning
rain but it did not dampen his first Huffman game of the season. Des birdied hole #6 en-route
to 11 front nine quota points. Scholarly-stuff
Des. Kent was holding on to the low round of the day right up until the last
score card was turned in. Kent shot a
super round of 83 from a Y17 handicap. We all know Kent can fly but he managed
his 40 quota without a birdie. Last in with 40 quota was Ernie. This is the
second consecutive week, Ernie has reached this
result. He had a birdie on hole #14 today
and finished off the round with a smooth 88. He leads the league with 8 pay
points to date. Good start Ernesto!
El Camino Trail: Rounding
out the winner’s circle, with 39 quota points, was Chris Kempling. Chris birdied hole #11 and made 16 quota
points on the back nine alone! He shot a nice round of 87 from a Y18
handicap. I bet that was a happy hike Chris!
Monday Stats that may interest only me;
Lowest round of the day: For the second consecutive week, the score of 82 took the honor. Gordon Good managed that score while
garnering quotas on 17 holes.
Top Bird Dog: One a day
when there were six birdies, Lindsay Somerville had two, on hole #7 and
#14. On Thursday’s Men’s League, those deuces would be worth big bucks!
Best Played Hole by one 4-Some: I was running a little behind figuring this stat out but I believe it
was Ed Wszol’s group who played hole #14 to +1. The sole bogie went to Peter Grail while
Ed, Denis Gagnon and Vic Taylor made par.
All pay points earners are
listed here. A total of 11 golfers
exceeded the 36-point threshold for a total of 29 pay points.
